First off I have been researching this for a while with no success but I think I may have come close to the problem, for a few weeks ive noticed my os thinks I only have 6 gigs of ram installed and for some reason reserves 2050 mb for hardware, this is not correct I have 8 infact and hardware reserve should not exceed like 20mb, after little to no help from gigabyte tech with my ga-990fxa-ud3 rev1.1 f9, I did my own investigating finally just recently finding this article, http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=541&Itemid=38&limitstart=2 which seems to be pretty much exactly my problem, now why this is more likely is because when I think back to when I installed my H100 I pulled slightly to hard on my cpu cooler and pulled the cpu right out of the socket without releasing the lever, now I inspected it and nothing looked bent but im am uncertain now, is it a possibility I destroyed the cpu socket when that happened?

I think you destroyed your CPU, not the socket.

buy your self a cheap am3 or am3+ motherboard plug it in and see if it displays the complete amount of ram. you could also try removing all ram, plugging one stick in testing all ram slots and do this to all ram sticks.
