I'm trying to have a screen at the other end of my building show a duplicate display of a screen in my office (sort of like airport arrivals/departures screens).

What's my cheapest option to achieve this? Running vga/hdmi cables the length of the building isn't feasible.

I'm working with XP and an lcd monitor that will be flat mounted on the wall.

There are solutions that'll transmit VGA over CAT5 network cable if running that kind of cable is more acceptable, but it might be easier to have a small machine using something like VNC or TeamViewer if you can use existing ethernet or wireless infrustructures.

Use these.. You get full HD quality 1920 x 1440 (60Hz) if your remote office isn't like 500ft or more away. Otherwise you just have to pay more for the stronger unit and higher quality cables. I created my own Ethernet cable and it worked well with it consistently.

You need a transmitter:

Also a receiver:

I have used these and they work great. Get whatever length Ethernet wire your IT team tells you need.
