How do i know if a Motherboard is good?

Hey, i know a bit about GPU's CPU's and PSU's but nothing about motherboards.
soooo how do i know if a motherboard, and if someone can give some tips to how to know more about anythinng in a pc?

What motherboards are we talking about, for one ill throw this out there never purchase biostar or winfast motherboards they are complete garbage, elitegroup also not so great. Anything other then those tends to be decent to great

No that is not a good motherboard for one its a non trust worth brand for 2 it only suppourts AGP for your graphics bus the ram is extremely out dated being DDR and the chipset is extremely old. where did you find this? do you have a time machine you're holding from us?

Pretty much anything by ASUS, ASRock, MSI, or Gigabyte. If not going to overclock, spend $80-100 (assuming you find one with all the connectors you want), basic overclock go ~$150, last ounce of performance that you can only see in synthetic benches or looking for signature block enhancement >$200. My $.02.
