How do I connect a vga monitor to a HDMI port on AS Rock motherboard

ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard is what I have. I got a regular VGA monitor. How do I connect both to get the right signal

The board has no video ports, are you using a graphics card?

It should have come with a DVI-I to VGA adapter. If not buy one. HDMI is digital. VGA.is analog. They are not compatible

As suggested, you can use a DVI to VGA adapter. A HDMI to VGA converter would be expensive.
