I've recently had some problems with my desktop computer, as I had received a virus that forced me to attempt to clean install windows 7 (since no antivirus or malware program was able to find the virus on safe mode - and on the normal mode the I could not launch any programs or even atepmt anything my computer would "stop responding") . When I tried installing Windows 7 home Premium from the DVD I had, I received an eror. I looked the error up and found that my disc must have corupted. Therefore, I gave up and just decided to buy a 2nd copy of Windows 7 Home Premium (the first one was the one that came with my PC).
Before attempting to install the new Windows 7, I decided to dust the inside of my computer. After I finished and put my computer back on, nothing appeared on the screen. I heard the regular beep that the computer makes when starting and I also heard the fans working so I rechecked the cable leading to my monitor - there was no problem with it. When pressing the shut-off button, I noticed that my computer shut off immediately (usually, when my computer on I need to hold the button for a couple seconds to shut the PC down).
I unplugged the computer, therefore, and rechecked all the connections inside my computer. When I put the computer back on, there was no change. Thinking that maybe it was something wrong with the video card, I removed it (my computer has an onboard video card apart from my GeForce GTS 450). After starting up my computer, I again received a blank screen though the computer again sounded that way it always does at startup.
I have no idea what I can do to fix my computer. I have not added any new hardware recently - the only thing I did was attept to reinstall Windows 7 (which failed and therefore I'm assuming that my driver has nothing on it at the moment making it even harder for me to do anything). I'll greatly appreciate any advice as to what could be causing the problem.
