ya amd is worthless. even if they have the same framerates as nvidia, they still look not as smooth due to the constant change in rate of when the frame is painted. amd = always moronic development.

Also supposedly a $650 launch price. Smells like a rip off, depending on how you look at it. Near Titan performance for 2/3 the price, but not that much faster than 7970 for way more money. Then again, it should overclock a bit better than the Titan, seeing as the two share the same max TDP, the Titan will run into its cap faster.

People keep crying "rip off" for cards like the Titan, but the high-end has never been about value. People will pay for the best.

NVidia has sold every Titan they've made. They would be FOOLISH to drop the price.

Saying the Titan and other similar cards are a "rip-off" is like saying a Ferrari is a rip-off. No, it's not. You're just not the target consumer.

I hadn't heard that $650 price tag before, more like $600 maximum, but who knows? $600 would seem like par for the course since the 7970 and GTX 680 came out at $550. The GTX 780 is going to sell like crazy, just like the GTX 770 will. Its the same story over and over and over again.

I read that in three months the GTX Titan has outsold the GTX 690 in total units, even though the GTX 690 has been out for an entire year as the undisputed "fastest video card".

I don't think its as bad as a 670 to 680 type deal, but not brilliant. If you compare it to a 670 for example, the price and performance scale pretty well, though value still goes to the older card. Still think a new generation should be better than this, even though its a refresh.

Alot of places point to the reference/Titan cooler model being $649, making it probably 500 quid in the UK. Theres also this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ4g_J3CMfw

If you read the comments he says $649.

Important point:
In Tomb Raider, the GTX680 scores relatively low. This is due to the TressFX feature for the hair which has a huge performance hit. It's less of a hit in the GTX780/Titan due to the different GPU architecture (and the HD7000 series).

I have a GTX680 (1200MHz boost) and disabled TressFX. By running at 1920x1080 (which looks nearly identical to 2560x1440) I can maintain 60FPS (VSYNC'd) over 95% of the time. The rest of the settings are the highest I believe. *So TWEAKING a game is one of the most important things to learn. Run a game at the highest settings at 35FPS, or tweak to achieve nearly the same quality at 60FPS?

(For those that RECORD gameplay, the GTX600 and GTX700 series are getting ShadowPlay soon which can record 1080p video with no more than a 5% performance hit apparently. Nice.)

Ya NVidia fanboys are worthless. They whine and cry that their brand is the best and everything else is crap.

They cannot think logically in virtually all cases.

And the GTX780 is suppose to be faster then the 680/7970 (hence the higher price point) so this isn't surprising in the least. I think AMD is suppose to be working on the 9970 though.
