Making a new pc for my dad. I've built a gaming pc for myself, and I could use some help picking parts for a lower end rig.

Approximate Purchase Date: This week, possibly next.

Budget Range: Approx. 500$ but I could go higher.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Surfing web, banking, watching movies. (Will not be gaming)

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: Yes (Windows 7)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.ca or NCIX.com

Location: Windsor, Ontario (Canada)

Parts Preferences: Preferably Intel, I have never used AMD, but it is possible their APU's would be better for these circumstances.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, using hdmi.

Additional Comments: He would like the machine to be as quiet as possible, even if it means increasing costs.

He wants to fit it in his home theater cabinet, so I was looking at this case:http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57786&vpn=ML03B&manufacture=Silverstone%20Technology ]
Silverstone Milo ML03B Black mATX HTPC Case 1X5.25 2X3.5INT USB3 Supports 4 80MM Case Fan [/url]
I know this case doesn't have much clearance, so I'm open to other HTPC style cases.

An ssd would be nice, if I can get a decent one cheap enough.
I really don't think he needs a video card, unless a low end model would help for 1080p video playback.

yea get a a10 and call it a day or get i5-3450s with a 65w tdp vs the a10 100w
more watts equal more heat=more fans=more noise but the i5 setup with a fanless gt 610 is more expensive but not over 500 but can also get a 35w pentium thats cheaper and less heat but the i5 is a quadcore and they more dependable then duelcore cpu's

i5 3450s (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116507)

gt 610(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125427)

pentium-(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116407)

i3 anorther 35w duel core cpu-(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115094)

I've put a list together, and totaled it out at a price quite a bit higher than 500$, but I do have some questions for anyone willing to answer.

1)Is it worth paying the extra money to get Ivy bridge over Sandy bridge?

2)Is this mobo good for the application?

Here's a link to the parts list: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/ZqaT
