Should I use my monitor or my TV?

CPU: athlon ii x4 640
GPU: hd 7850 1 gb
RAM: 4 gb

My monitor's max res is 1366 x 768 (i know i know) and my tv can be in 720p or 1080i. On another thread, somebody said that on my monitor I would be able to get a minimum 30 and a maximium 60 fps on skyrim, but on low or medium due to the bottleneck. If I plug up my pc to my tv will I be able to play with the full power of the 7850 on skyrim? Also, how would I go about hooking it up? My pc and tv are about ten feet away from each other. I don't want to move the whole thing over there as i would just be using the tv for gaming. Thanks.

Monitors tend to have better response times than TVs, resulting in less ghosting. However, the TV would offer you a larger resolution and more detail.

In terms of usage, your monitor, if anything, will give you better FPS at a higher quality setting because your resolution is lower than the TV. The higher the resolution, the more pixels the GPU has to talk to and the harder it has to work, resulting is less FPS/quality but more image ... in theory. The 7850 is a decent card so you should be able to play at good settings on your monitor and decent ones on your TV.

You would need a 10ft cord to connect the GPU to the TV. Not desirable but unless you move one of them closer to the other, the only other way is to use a long cable.

What settings do you think i would be able to play at on my monitor with skyrim? I thought that the cpu would bottleneck it too much at that low of a resolution? oh yeah, I put the wrong resolution on accident. The monitor is 1366 x 768

In all honesty your CPU will bottleneck on either screen. The GPU plays a larger part in the resolution and quality of the graphics whereas the CPU plays a bigger part in the actual gaming. Skyrim really balances the demand across the CPU and GPU, so they both need to be as good as they can.

In your case, you'll probably be lucky to game at Medium settings on either screen and maintain a solid 30 FPS. Don't know if you've OCed your CPU, but if not it might be worth giving it a shot.

Mobo doesn't support overclocking :(
Looks like this will have to suffice for now

What about for other modern games? What settings could this play other stuff on? I get Bioshock Infinite and Farcry 3 Blood Dragon free with the 7850. I also get Tomb Raider but I dont plan on playing that :p haha. I also have Oblivion and The Sims 3 for PC. I don't really wanna play shooters on PC, I'd rather do that on console to play with my friends. Thanks for your help :)
