I created a Gaming computer 3 weeks ago and i have found while playing playing games, even if they aren't large, my PSU goes into panic mode, which makes my Motherboard turn off to protect the system from power surges, and upon startup it states it turns off from unstable power supply.
The most i've experienced this was 4 shut downs, and 1 lockup in 1-2 hours.

My specs are as follows:
-Standard ATX PS2 ( POWER SUPPLY, 500W FROM COOLER MASTER )
-AMD A8-5600K (100W) Quad-Core Socket FM2, 3.6GHz APU, 4Mb Cache, 32nm (AD560KWOHJBOX)
-ASUS (HD7770-DC-1GD5-V2) AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5 ( CAME OVERCLOCKED )
1020 MHz Clock, 4600 MHz Memory
1020 MHz Overclocked, 20% cooler with DirectCU
-1 TERRABYTE HARDDRIVE
-ASUS F2 A55-M/CSM MOTHERBOARD
-2 FANS

I realize that the Power supply i got was cheap, but i did not think to have it unstable even with 500W.

Any information or suggestions are welcome to post.
Thanks in Advance.

Well power surges are a nuisance to most PSUs, but the Coolermaster is especially crappy.
Are you SURE this is from unstable power?

If you are, start by getting a UPS, this will protect your system from surges and keep power as constant as possible.

If that does not solve the issue, a new PSU is in order(which I would do anyway).

Would you think with these specifications that 500W would even be enough? Especially during large games that demand more power?

When building a computer never skimp on the power supply(its the most important part in any system), not only can a poor quality power supply cause instability(noisy rails and not being able to deliver their rated wattage), this can also damage other components. I would highly suggest replacing that crapmaster power supply as it sounds like its one of their many craptastic units. Use the guide in the link below to get a new one thats in either tier 1,2 or 3.

Yes, more than enough, but that PSU does not deliver the rated 500W in the correct way(12V rail where its needed).

That PSU also has inferior components and this may cause issues.

A GOOD 400W can run your system better than that THING can.

Do you have a list of reputable brands? I've been looking into Antec and Corsair ones.
