USB 3.0 Help!

Hi,

I'm still kind of new to computer build so bare with me.

My Zalman Z-9 case have two USB 3.0 ports on the front panel, but I can't find any USB 3.0 header on my motherboard to plug it into.
In fact, the cords from the front USB 3.0 ports are not the ones with pins, they are just the regular USB cords. I'm confused about where to plug these cords.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated!

My motherboard is a Biostar AMD 970, it has two USB 3.0 input ports at the back as well.

IF your mobo has USB 3, you need that adapter with the Zalman Z9/Z11. Its cheap so don't worry.

Oh I see, so I just get one of these adapters and plug it into the regular USB 2 pin on the motherboard?

Nope, that is JUST for USB 3... You can adapt it so you ahve 2 extra front panel USB2s, will not be able to run USB 3 unless you give up your 2 pick panel ports and extend them to the front.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking about that too.
If I do get another mobo, how do I know if the mobo has USB 3 headers?

Budget? You read the specifications, look for "USB3 front panel Header".

You may still be able to send it back.
