I just bought everything to build my first time ever self made gaming PC.

I did a lot of research before buying all this stuff so i was 99% sure everything would work with each other and not create bottlenecks.

But after reading a bit more about my graphics card and the amount of watt it needs i got scared i bought the wrong PSU, apparently it needs 430w to run and i bought a 680w. I thought that would be fine but then i read somewear that the amount of watt is not the most important but the amps are, and since i have no idea wat that is, and can't really find a clear answer on google, i was hoping you guys could help me out.

My setup:

MOBO: asus p8z77 v pro

CPU: Intel i53570K

PSU: Be Quiet! Straight Power E9 CM 680w

Graphics card: GTX 660 MSI TF 2G D5

RAM: Corsair 8 GB DDR3 1600

HDD: western digital 2 TB black

Cooling for cpu: Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo

SSD: Samung 840 pro series 128 gb

Case: cooler master storm enforcer

I also used several psu calculators but somehow i always got a different outcome.

Just to be 100% sure, will everything work with each other, will my psu be enough for my graphics card together with all the other components.?

I would really appreciate it because i already bought everything and its on its way over here and i'm kind of freaking out it will not be enough.

Its also my first time doing all this stuff and nobody in my family or friends know anything about these kind of things, so i really need some pro's to help me out.

amp, or ampere, is the unit of measurement for an electric current. An electric current is the measurement of how much charge is moving through any one point in time. So obviously, it would be bad if amp fluctuates.

A GTX 660 will not take up anywhere near 430W. Whoever, or whatever, recommended 430W really meant the entire system, not just the GPU. The GTX 660 will at most take up 140W. Don't worry, your PSU is a good quality PSU and it will do just fine. :)

The build also looks good. I can't tell from the post which Corsair RAM that is. But if it's not low-profile, it may block a very small portion of the CPU Cooler. But it won't be a problem fitting them all in.

680W is plenty for that system. It would run fine on 500W if it was a good quality PSU.

Thank you very much for your reply, that's a big relieve. The Corsair ram i purchased are these http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-... i have read that they are pretty tall, so i might be in problems fitting the cooler.

Where i got the info from about the amount of watt the the gtx 660 needs, is this place: http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/printer/power-requi... and this place http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm Thankfully they are wrong :)

I was also planning on overclocking the i5 3570k after the thermal paste has set in, guess that will not be problem then with this PSU ?

You can fill up all your RAM slots with those and still be able to fit the cooler. But the heat spreaders will cover about an inch or so up the CPU fan. But the CPU fan won't collide with the RAM. There should also be a little room between the last RAM slot and the CPU fan. It shouldn't degrade the performance of the fan though.

They aren't wrong. Those are for your entire SYSTEM, not just the GPU. So if you have a GTX 660, a minimum of 430W is required for your entire build. That is not to say that the GTX 660 itself takes up 430W.

No; your PSU is a bit overkill for what you have. You are fine. You can add another GTX 660 in SLI and still be fine.
