I have an HP ProBook 6550b running Windows 7 Professional. It starts up then the screen goes white and nothing. Can I fix it from my Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 Home Premium? Also how do I get my files and pictures off of it before I lose them. Can I do it using remote desktop connection or homegroup? How?

What did you do before the issues started?

Depending on what is causing the issue, if it's not your hard drive or if the hard drive isn't broken, you may still be able to get the data. Most laptops or books or whatever they are called have screws under them that when removed can give you acces to the hard drive of the said device. If you can get the hard drive out, you can connect it to another PC and copy your data from there. You need some kind of hard drive to usb connector for this. Google is your friend. Do not do this if you have no experience, consult someone who does.

Looking at the picture, the Bottom View image shows the hard drive bay (#7).
