I don't know if there's something internally wrong or what with my computer but it just doesn't seem like it runs smoothly anymore mainly when it comes to running applications, seems like it takes a lot longer than when it used to. I built this computer about 11 years ago and have continually upgraded it.

Recently I added a new motherboard (A785GM-LE) and graphics card (XFX HD Radeon 6670 2G DDR3). It seems like I have a lot of errors in my event log but I don't understand what they mean and I don't know if fixing one thing would make them all go away or what so I'm here for some advice and guidance.

Below are my Razer Game Booster diagnostics results.

I see that you are using an old HDD. Have you formatted since you put in the motherboard? If not you should backup your important information format and re-install windows. If you've not formated that would almost certainly fix these issues.

Yes I am using an older HDD. I am on a bit of a budget so I got this one off of a friend of mine last year and no I have not re-formatted my HDD since I replaced the motherboard. I'll try that but what does that do? How could it increase performance?

When you install windows it scans your all your equipment and creates files that tell your computer how your hardware functions. A lot of your functionality will be impaired otherwise.

Also after you've formatted and been running for a while it's a good idea to defragment your hdd's(not ssd's) periodically. Over time the files get spread out over the entire hdd. Defragmenting will place all the files at the start of the hdd so it takes less time for your pc to find them.

I defrag my HDD once a week, have it set up on a schedule. Would there be any way to not have to re-format my HDD and just fix the problems that I have. Re-format is not the most exciting thing in the world to have to do, I would have a lot of stuff to reinstall.

You don't have to, but it is the best way. An alternative would be to go into the device manager and unistall the devices(in windows, not the physical device) that are not working. then reboot. Windows should then recognize them as new devices and ask you for drivers which should be located on the disk that came with your mobo.

A much simpler alternative would be to boot from your windows disk and once loaded select to repair the install. It may or may not work, but it is the simplest option.

Not sure why I didn't think of that first. Facepalm.

So, I tried booting from the windows disk and there are no options available to "repair" windows except for if your having a problem starting up which I'm not. There was restore, full restore, memory diag., and a couple of others. Is there not any kind of third-part program I can download that would be able to better identify my errors and fix them or tell me how to fix them? And by the way, I must of missed it but I am not having any troubles with my drivers, I've downloaded all current drivers or at least to my knowledge I have. I even updated the software on my TV/Monitor.

There likely are some third party apps to get the job done but i'm not aware of them. With your problem my advice is to settle down with a few beers and a movie while formatting and reinstalling windows.
