hey guys if you do a quick search on my profile youll notice ive had quite a bit of trouble with this card since i have bought it one year ago.

i have a gtx 680 evga signature 2 edition, during borderlands 2 i would experience frame rate dips into the low 15's i got so frustrated i went out and spent 140 dollars on a dedicated physx card the 650ti. the lag was less notible and the game became playable even though the gtx 680 still exhibited extreme frame rate drops and usage percentage drops.

and thats how i gamed for a year till about a week ago i got fed up and decided i would reoverclock my cpu and thats what i did i got my i7 920 it to a stable 3.8 (it was clocked at 3.6 before) and voila! nothing changed....

then i decided hey why not overclock the gpu? and thats what i did i got a stable 30 mghs to the core and 300 to the memory easy, temps never went over 65c in game in fact it was well below that 60 and 58c during really heavy gameplay. my fps shot up too that small overclock took a game like borderlands 2 and took it to the next level, with this new overclock the game never went below 35 fps even during heavy combat situations. with a dedicated physx this card was finally playing the way i thought and wanted it too.

and now today much to my dismay, it has randomly downclocked itself not once but two times, i had my custom fan setting at 75 percent and then 80 percent to run during games the temperature never exceeded 65c and it hapened while playing borderlands 2. i never had this problem before today is the first day it has happened.

i then decided to check battlefield 3 and what hapened was even weirder black horizontal bars were on the screen it was laggy and the only way i got it to fix itself was to back out of the game completely and run it again

so now someone tell me is it time to rma this card?
