So for the past couple of months my router keeps dropping out and turning off then turns back on after a few seconds. Im using a netgear CDG24G, the one supplied by timewarnercable. I think this might just be because the router is overheating, as it is pretty hot, but im not sure. WE have a few computers connected to the router throughout the day for gaming, 1 LAN and the rest wireless. If i were to get a new router which ones can you guys recommend. I've been looking at the Asus RT-N66U / AC66U. Any suggestions oh what to buy? Thanks

Well, for starters, make sure it's got clear airflow, and isn't smothered by anything. It's a router with a separate cable modem, not DSL?

Make sure whatever you get can do simultaneous dual-band 802.11N, at the least. AC is, IMO, beyond diminishing returns at this point. It's also still in draft stages, so there could be compatibility issues like early N routers had.
