im looking to get a gaming pc but im having trouble picking one i need one that can handle ventrilo and wow at the same time and maybe itunes. but i dont know how mean programs a daul core can handle at once with out lagging the system.

Do you have a budget? What country do you live in?

Try one of the following (alphabetical order):
- AMD FX-6300
- AMD FX-8350
- Intel Core i5-3350P (no OC)
- Intel Core i5-3470 (no OC)
- Intel Core i5-3570K

im trying to get something around 500 im not playing demanding games just wow and daiblo 3 and a few other low end games like rift and starcraft 2 i live in the u.s

Around 500 what? The FX-6300 should be fine.

500 us and thats 500 for the hole system not just for the processor im looking at the amd a 6-5400k which is a daul core or the a10-5800k i need to know how much stuff can a daul core handle at one time. i cant get a build for 500 with the 6300

A dual core can handle most tasks although it can struggle if doing heavy multitasking, video/audio editing/encoding, software compiling or heavy gaming.

But it will be ok for your purposes I think.

so i can go wit hthe a6 5400k 3.6 gz and it wont lag my game play with me having vent and wow running at the same time

It's just weak. All the APU also come with an integrated GPU, which I'm guessing you won't use. The AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE is a better option.
