So I have this new laptop and tried to install windows 7 onto it and it fails to get past the startup screen and I tried to do this in the windows 8 on it. After that I tried in bios, after that I successfully installed windows 7 onto the hdd from a different computer.
after the successful install I installed the hdd back into the laptop and it still will not boot the os.

I found the solution in the bios when you try to install windows 7 it is running an older setup so in the bios there is a setting under advanced to put it back to a legacy bios setting
