The higher the number, the better. lol. anything with 2GB of "DEDICATED" memory will prly suffice.
DON'T GET ANYTHING WITH "SHARED" MEMORY!!!
NVIDIA GPU's are good in laptop's. They're powerful and efficient, so they won't kill ur battery. mine is a 2GB GTX660M.
The GTX just says that it's a graphics card. The 2GB is how much dedicated memory the chip has (this is different than RAM) - the more the better. The 600 series is the current release series, however the 700 series is currently being released. The model is the 60 of the 600 series (which is a moderately high performing card). Any model number below 650 is considered low end and prly won't run any games well (sucky and don't buy). And the M just denotes that it's a graphics card for a laptop.

AMD chips are similar, but they denote their models differently. They use 7000 as their current series number and then add to the next 2 values as model number. For instance a 7770M would be about a 650M grade card. 7850M is better, 7870M is high end. Nvidia's good chips are 650, 650ti, 660, 660ti, 670, 680. and if you see SLI or X-fire or Crossfire, that means that they stuffed 2 chips into the laptop and it'll prly do anything you want a laptop to do graphically.
