I am choosing a hard drive for my new gaming laptop and I don,t know if this 4gb ssd is worth it.

(500GB (w/ 4GB SSD Memory) Seagate XT 7200RPM NCQ Hybrid 32MB Cache (Serial-ATA II 3GB/s) this is 115 $
or I could get this hard drive for 40 dollers
(500GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache Buffer (Serial-ATA II 3GB/s)

If I plan on playing games from arma 2 and 3 and dayz to less taxing games like killing floor, and dont starve. Is the ssd worth it?
Thanks!

Solution
The only advantage of a hybred drive is improving the Boot time.
With only a 4 gig SSD cache, about all that will be in cache are the start up Windows files.
NO improvement on program load time as 4 gig is a limiting factor.
Absolutly no gains for Games. Even a seperate SSD with OS + programs does NOT improve FPS, Seperate SSD will ONLY improve game load and maps loading (providing the "maps" are on the SSD).

Bottom line: If Boot time bugs you get the Hybred drive - But do NOT get it thinking it will improve game performance.

sorry am a noob I knew it was not a full ssd I just wanted to know if it was good.
If it only makes windows load faster and does not change game load times or fps then I will not spend all the money then.
Thanks guys!

This^ Great explanation Chief

Everyone on the thread is correct but i felt the need to comment here. Chief makes a good point in the large misconception that SSD's (this one is a hybrid not an ssd) improve gaming performance.
