Balance between good/bad gpu/cpu

Hey, this i my first time pting somthing. I just wanted to ask something bout a uid I'm doig at the moment. I'm building gaming pc and have a tight budget. I'm not really sure if I should give economical priority to the gpu or the cpu. Thanks!

Whats your budget?
Generally, unless you have a crap CPU, you'd gain the most performance boost with the GPU

Gaming is about 85% GPU and 15% CPU.

my budget is around 800 bucks just for the system. So, if you say that I can take an intel core i3 an an nvidia geforce gtx 660 ti it'll work fine? I'm trying to get nice graphics with recent games (ex: assassin's creed 3).

Try to get the cheapest i5 with the best GPU you can. I have an i3 and a 7870 and that is as high of a GPU as I would pair with an i3.

i3 paired with a GTX 660 ti will work, however bumping up to a quad-core i5 and getting a less powerful GPU (GTX 650ti or GTX 660) might work out a little better.
