hi,
now that the benchmarks are out for the gtx 780, what do you guys think about single gtx780 vs gtx580 SLI at 1080p?
I already have 1 gtx580 and i can get another one for less than 200$.

Also how does a gtx580 SLI cope against the titan?

thanks

I'd just SLI if I were you. The performance will be similar, but it'll be a WHOLE lot cheaper to you, and you can tri SLI if you want to get even more performance at still cheaper.

Titan would still be faster against 580's SLI

The gtx 780 will out preform in more than a few categories.

Gtx780 will have a higher core speed, Higher GPU memory, faster memory speed, and faster memory bandwidth.

The shader units will be nearly 2x as much, 3x faster texture rate.

The power that will be required will also be about half. The Sli will need about 500watt and the 780 only around 250watt. So it also depends on your PSU.

Personally i would get the 780, it is about 15% slower than the titan.

i wouldn't bother doing SLI for one screen. depends how picky you are with the FPS. do you like a constant 60 frames for vsync with no dipping? then the 780gtx is your prize. the 680gtx pretty much accomplishes my 60fps fix in most games as long as you're not AA 16x or something.

so in other words, if you REALLY want to replace your 580gtx, i'd replace it with the 780gtx instead of SLI.

Go for the 780 as RaisingTheBarHD says, it will outperform 580 in SLI. Also with the 780 you got the newest technology and can always go 780 SLI later.

yeah but then an SLI'd gtx580 will compromise those 2x the shaders etc etc
also i forgot to mention i have the 3gb gtx580 version.
oh and the power supply isn't a matter.
i do prefer not to spend alot of money but if its a good investment i'll buy ..
now if gtx 690>Titan>gtx780>gtx680>gtx580
wouldn't the sli gtx580 be somewhere in between the titan and gtx780?
are there any benchs?
thanks for the help everyone, kindly appreciate it!

for that much money i could help you formulate a great build. but for what your looking at a 670 sli OC will perform just below a gtx 690. So a 670 sli will outperform a 780 but what you have to take into account is the micro-stuttering which will be rather small since the 670 are optimized greatly. If you are building a pc for 2000 pounds then i would recommend a Gtx 780 sli and you will still be able to build a beast system.

Next time great your own post
