:??:Alright, i upgraded my graphics card to a radion and when i got it back from the guy who upgraded it i got a new default audio device Digital audio (HDMI.) which is the only one appearing on default audio devices. It says its working properly and its enabled. Also the guy who upgraded it told me i have to plug the speakers in the back jacks which i have plugged it into every single one and still it says "no speakers or headphones are plugged in" and i have no HDMI port on my desktop. so, basically what im trying to do is get my original default audio device and for there to be sound. i am currently running windows 7 professional, and the guy that upgraded it is to "busy" to fix it. Also i don't want to be connected to a tv just a regular monitor.

You have to install the drivers for the graphics card. We all assume that tech guys will do that for us but usually they don't do it.

what is the actual make and model of the Radeon Video card?

The distributor of your video card is Sapphire, there are a couple of versions so I'm guessing that this SAPPHIRE HD 4670 1G DDR3 PCI-E is your version, the download link is referring to the version I have chosen.

Sapphire uses AMD Catalyst Control Center™ but download only from the Sapphire site, they sometimes make slight changes to the download files, select your OS version prior to downloading -

The audio jacks on the motherboard, the green one is usually the audio out but you will need drivers and a utility to enable the sound.
If you have the utility installed, when you plug in the stereo cable to the jack, the utility would pop up giving you options to adjust the speaker arrangement. What is your motherboard?

What is your PSU? It would need to be at least 400 watts, to support the video card.

agreed. Video cards that have HDMI will generally have to interface with your system audio. Because of how PCI-E bus works, you don't need separate cables from the video card to the mobo. While it is a stroke of genius in mobo creation, when you install the video card the proper drivers must be installed. If not, it can cause audio issues.

Since it is a Radeon card, it is best to get the drivers directly from the site (as previously stated).
