Audio Connector Help

I put my new computer together yesterday and when i cam to hook up the fron I/O panel from my case evrything was there. Then i came to the HD Audio and there is one slot for it on my motherboard but there are 2 wires on the case. Please Help.

Are you sure that's not your case speaker? Do you have front panel audio jacks? Take some pictures please.

Your case probably has HD audio and AC'97 Audio cables. Use the HD audio connector and leave the AC'97 Audio unplugged

it is one cable until the wires come to the connector then wires come from the connector to another connecotr

and how do you tell the difference between hd audio and ac'97 cables

I unplugged it and plugged it back in and then it worked from now on so thanks for all the help
