Should I Have Used This Heatsink/Fan?

I just installed an AMD FX 8350, and since the supplied fan was smaller than the fan I was currently using, I stuck with my current fan. I use the carbon-based Arctic Cooling MX-4 thermal paste, I cleared out the dust that had accumulated in the heatsink, I use the Cooler Master Storm Enforcer case with a 200mm fan installed on top, and the new cpu currently sits at a nice 15 C at idle. When I played Dishonored on full settings, the cpu sat at 65 C (max is 90). I'm not sure yet whether it will sit at 65 C for more demanding games like Skyrim or Bioshock Infinite. But when I tried to do h.264 encoding, which uses full load, my fan could not keep the 8-core cpu cool enough.

Ok, back to the topic. Before I plugged in the new cpu, I noticed that the supplied heatsink had heat pipes. I'm not sure whether the pipes are copper or bronze. I looked up another fan/heatsink which has heat pipes, and I read that the pipes help to keep a cpu cooler.

Now, I know most of you guys do not use the heatsink/fan which comes with the cpu, but should I have used it in this case?

P.S.: I can upload and post a pic of the heatsink/fan in question if anyone would like to see it and judge it :) .

Here is the heatsink that came with the 8350:

Can anyone tell me what this heatsink is made of? What the heat pipes are made of? And will it be enough to keep the 8350 cool enough under full load?

I do not know what my current heatsink is made of. All I know is that it is a light grey color, it does not have heat pipes, and it was enough to keep my six-core 1045T cool enough at full load.

Also, the 8350 got too hot while I was playing Bioshock Infinite. That marks the total 2nd time this cpu has overheated. So, what should I do? Will the 8350's supplied heatsink/fan be enough to keep it cool under full load? Or should I go back to using the Thuban until I have better cooling? If I use the 8350's fan/heatsink, I will most certainly use my own thermal paste.
