Just built my first pc a couple weeks ago, worked on first start-up no problems. Today I come home from work and got the message noted above ^. Tinkered around with my BIOS and Boot Device settings changing them around, nothing helped. My BIOS is still set to AHCI, and my SSD is set to IDE. I use only one SSD drive as my main hard drive, and I can see it in the settings.

I'm really at a loss here. Can anyone help me out?

Your SSD should be set to AHCI mode

Your problem could be as simple as a bad power connection to the SSD , or faulty SATA cable

If you are using an Asrock mb and windows 8 you might find updating the BIOS to the latest version , even if you have the latest version may help
