Hi

First, english is not my main language so I will use simple terms and try my best. Normally I like to surf internet and doing daily tasks (word, file managing, torrents...) in my pc while playing a video source only on a second display. I am using a 22" PC monitor as primary display and a 46" LCD as second display, both HDMI connected to a HIS Radeon HD 2600XT running on Windows 7 Ultimate. I have configured both Catalyst Control Center and video players so whenever I run a video with VLC or MPC the video goes straight to the second display with no interruption on my primary display . I am planning to build a new pc using:

i7-3770K Ivy Bridge
ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE
SeaSonic X750
G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB

My question is which video card would do the same with my new build? I'm not a gamer; I only want stability, good graphics and excellent performance. Can anyone suggest an easy to use, compatible and reliable video card or solution for two displays in the way i do?

I will be greatly thankful for any help or suggestion.

Pedro

How much are you wanting to spend, really any card can run 2 monitors fine that have been released in the past 1-3 years.

Thanks for responding. I'm willing to spend no more than $300. I need advice since I did my last build 7 years ago and I'm not too familiar with actual components, it’s like a reboot for me. I know that nvidia once offered something like the theater mode configuration in catalyst control of ati/amd software. I have used nvidia in the past but (don't remember when) they stop supporting that feature and I have to change to ati in order to update my old card. I think that my actual options are still in radeon, and I want to buy something with future support but what I see everywhere is super cards for super games. I don’t want to pay for extra features that only benefit the game experience; I am looking for a modern solid and reliable card with reasonable expectancy support.

Really any mid range card should do you fine. 7770 would be perfect if you don't plan on gaming, I think it's like 130 or something like that. I'd give you some links but I'm on mobile so it's hard to do.
