Just put together a wishlist for a brand new computer I want to build. First timer here, so go easy please.

Budget: around $1,000 (give or take $200)
Goal: High-end gaming (looking to play the latest and baddest at highest settings possible @ 60+ FPS on average)
**NOT looking to overclock.

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GPU: SAPPHIRE 100351SR Radeon HD 7970 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card OC with Boost
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Ivy Bridge 3.2GHz (3.6GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2500 BX80637i53470
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0
**Note that the Memory stick comes free with the ASRock MoBo
Storage: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD256BW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
**The 2.5" to 3.5" converter comes with the Cooler Master case.
Case: COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

What I really need from you guys is to spot any incompatibilities between any of these parts. Particularly, I'm a bit worried about the memory stick because I've heard that the ASRock MoBo I selected can only handle specific RAM voltage (1.5V being one of them) and I'm not sure if the one I have in my wishlist (1.35V) will not cause any problems. It shouldn't, though, right? I mean, it comes free with the MoBo so one would only assume they're perfectly fine with each other.

Also, I'm worried that the 700W PSU may be too much or too little for my system. Thoughts?

I would also greatly appreciate it if you know of any other components or parts that offer a similar gaming performance for a cheaper price. Wouldn't hurt to shave off a couple of dozen dollars for practically the same performance.

Thank y'all in advance for your time and consideration. Peace!

Looks great! The power supply will be an excellent choice with room to grow. There is nothing wrong with getting PS's too big as they are most efficient at 50% of their rated output. Great choices throughout. Ram will be fine with Intel CPU! Check NewEggs prices on PS's right now they are on sale 15% off + rebates! ( until 5/27 ) ( right now you could get the AX750 for less!) lots to chose from:

I don't know if you know, but if you opt for a Radeon 7990 you'll get
8 games with it too. However I think you'll get some games anyway.
As for the PSU I think you might be right about 700 being a bit overkill.
I'd think 650Watts max. Perhaps you ought to wait for Haswell too.
I also see you didn't get a K-edition CPU, which tells me you're not
into overclocking much. Well if you OC you might be able to get some
extra performance out of your rig, which of course increases its value.
I'm also sure that if the RAM comes with the motherboard, that it's compatible.
Also about the PSU again, you've chosen a gold quality one, while I think you
really could get by on bronze or silver. You could also shave off a little by
getting a 128SSD instead of 256. The extra cash culd then go towards getting
a 1TB HDD. You can then put them in a RAID 1, 0 or 10 configuration. Mostly 1 or 0.
0 For more space, but 1 for more redundancy.

I don't know if you have, but remember to include the screen in your considerations.
No point in getting a baller GPU and then getting a screen with a 1200 x 1080 resolution.
You'd want a monitor with at LEAST 1920 x 1080p (Full HD) resolution and something like
an IPS panel for added colours.

I was originally going to go with the 128 GB SSD but I realized that its dollar:GB ratio is higher than 1 whereas the 256 GB SSD has a ratio of 0.98. I really can't justify paying more than a dollar per GB of storage, even if it's an SSD.

And yes, I don't plan on overclocking at all. I don't feel knowledgeable enough with the hardware and the brands to do that sort of thing yet. I'll hopefully learn a lot out of this new system and start overclocking with upgraded parts.

Thanks for your input on the GPU, PSU, and the monitor. They are duly noted :).
