Hello :hihi:,

Can I use a DDR3 memory in a motherboard which takes DDR2 memory?
Answer: Are you serious? NO!!
Reason: DDR3 memory is not backward compatible with DDR2 and Vice-versa. Moreover, they are electrically incompatible with each other and the key notch is located differently in DDR2 and DDR3 DIMMs—prevents accidentally interchanging them.

Conclusion: I still think the motherboard is quite good though it supports DDR2. Maybe this motherboard cannot compete with latest AMD or Intel motherboard but still this is a pretty decent mobo. There are two solutions - that is to ditch the motherboard and altogether go for a new motherboard or just not to be price conscious and get a memory upgrade to get the most of out the present system. But the choice is entirely yours!!

Check the following site for the memory, perhaps the memory might be in your price range!! :mouais:

Cheers. Adios
