Can't Get Asus Xonar Audio Card Working Right

So I just installed a new Asus Xonar DG audio card, 'cause I have a 5.1 surround speaker system, but there were no orange/black/green hookups on my motherboard, which was the best way to hook up the speakers. So I figured for $30, it'd be worth it to get the card so I could have that connection and improved sound quality as well.

Unfortunately, after I installed it, audio only seems to go through the front left and front right speakers when I have the speakers' audio receiver on 6 Channel Direct. I installed the drivers straight off the disk that came with the card, and the front panel cable is hooked up properly. I'm at a loss as for what else to try. Is there something I need to format or anything?

For reference, the speaker system is the Logitech Z-5500, and I've had it for something like three years now. All speakers on it work correctly when hooked up to my xbox 360 through the optical input.

Sorry, didn't read your post clearly enough! Try watching a movie with DD, just to see if the Side out gives you sound. Isn't there a test tone in the software that lets you hear that each speaker is being fed a signal?

I've been using a green/orange/black analog cable from PC to the receiver, so I should have all six channels. I'm not using optical, because the receiver is hooked up to my xbox through optical, and I don't want to be switching it back and forth ten times a day, from computer to xbox and back again.

So I tried using optical, and I get no sound whatsoever. The receiver for my speakers says there's no digital data.

So all that seems to work through the card is stereo analog, when it should have 6 channels of analog and optical as well. Any other thoughts?
