Hello, like the title states I am going to be upgrading my current build soon. I would like to know some opinions on what I should upgrade to later. My budget will be $300 max for a video card and $200 max for a 1080p monitor. I don't plan on upgrading my CPU, Mobo, or anything else since I don't have more money.

I currently have this as my build:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2500K @ 3.30 GHz
CASE: Corsair Carbide Series 400R
FAN: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo
SSD: 120 GB Intel 320 Series SATA-II 3.0Gb/s
HDD: 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD
MOTHERBOARD: GigaByte Z68X-UD3H-B3
MEMORY: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz (Corsair Vengeance)
POWERSUPPLY: 850 Watts - Corsair CMPSU-850TXV2 80 Plus
VIDEO: AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 16X PCIe
MONITOR: 19” 1440x900 display (Dell basic monitor)

I will be upgrading in the summer after getting money from working, and will buy the parts sometime in July/August. Should I buy a 7870 LE, 7950 Boost, or wait for the next gen 8xxx series? I would like to buy a decent card that can play a game like BF3/4 on high details without lagging even when recording using a program like Fraps, consistently 60fps or more. And on low settings maybe get like 80-100fps or more while recording gameplay videos.

Here you go. Adding the total money youll spend, its 500$. So i based the upgrades on that. Meaning, i got a bit more expensive gpu and a cheaper monitor. The monitor is still great though. I really like it too cos its response time is 2ms. :)

@Renzo that seems like a very good deal, but some of the reviews for that 7970 brand don't look nice lol. I will be getting the new GPU and Monitor during July/August, so although that looks very tempting with those free games included that I would like to play, I cannot buy them right now. It's a good recommendation though, I might get a better card and cheaper 1080p monitor if that's what's better.

You could always wait for the new generation gpus to come out. Better architecture means better performance, less power consumption and more run for your money (hopefully). :) Good luck!
