Alright, so yesterday I had some trouble with a driver. All I had to do was disable it then enable it again device manager. All good.

I was surfing away earlier today and then all of a sudden, GONE. I can only connect by wired connection, even though my wifi button is red (active) I can't find or even scan anything.

Turns out, that same driver is gone.

I'm on Windows 8, Acer Aspire 5942G, and my network adapter is Huawei Model:B260a

Also, I don't see how I need stuff from Huawei (router) when I can't even scan for wifi?

I'm leaving the country on Wednesday and I'd really like this sorted. PLEASE HELP.

so you wifi driver is gone? that other driver i believe is just for the accessory switches like the wifi touch to turn the wifi on and off and the volume etc if that has the ones you can just touch.

IF your wifi driver is still there under device manager find it and hit uninstall but do not remove the driver. then hit search for changes up top(has a magnifying glass), then it will reinstall your wifi driver and hopefully fix your problem. If you want to do a meeting using https://join.me/, It will allow you to generate a code so i can access your computer to help you out. Don't worry i'm not trying to steal your information i'm an IT tech, and i'm certified.

Kinda makes sense. I can't turn off my wifi button, it's just continuously glowing.

But no, my driver isn't there. I'm positive. I can't quite remember the name (I'm a novice...shameful, I know) but there was 3 options under "network adapters" and there's only 2 today, with the one the I disabled/re-enabled now gone.

And yeah, that'd be great, thanks man. Doing it now.

So man, it turned out when you left, the driver (Aethoros) came through like 5 hours later and started working. Only thing was, when I'd shut down my comp it'd leave again. So eventually it stopped working and I took it to my computer repair guy who fitted a new WLAN adapter and we're all good now.

Thanks a ton, again! :)
