I'm going to change my phenom 720BE system and I'm in doubt;
zero gaming, for everyday but speedy use and a bit of OC.

Thank you for your opinion/advice

As it is right now even the i5-3570k is up to par in games that supports 8-cores with the FX 8350, even though it's only a 4-core CPU. Most games atm can't utilize 8-cores, which makes the FX 8350 a weak competender as it has horrible single-threaded performance. The i5-3570k will also remain a lot cooler and will only use about 2/3 of the power of the AMD FX 8350.

Of course i'm going to purchase 840 pro 256, asrock extreme4 or d3h, 2x4gb 1600 or more if AM3+; it's not an upgrade, I'm assembling a brand new system.
Keep in mind that i'm not interested in gaming at all, I'm only looking for a FAST pc for everyday use for which tricore is not enough.

Thanks

Not for gaming but I love o/c; I ordered right now:
FX-8320
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
G.Skill Ares F3-1866C9D-8GAB 1866MHz 8GB (2x4GB) 9-10-9 2N Low Profile
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX
Xigmatek Aegir SD128264
Case Antec Three Hundred Two USB3

just add my two ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU/DI/1GD5 cards (o/c 990MHz when Folding@home)

Nothing against Intel but my last was, in 1989, a 8086 8MHz...

Thanks to everybody
