Help please,
I have just installed a complete new i7 Ivy Bridge PC running under Win 7 64bit (for Video Editing).
I have a C: drive that is a Toshiba 120Gb SSD, on which I have installed the O.S.
I have just added a 1Tb Toshiba HDD but windows does not show it in My Computer.
I checked the bios and it does show it in some of the bios pages.
The SSD and the ODD are on the 2 SATA III sockets on my Z77 motherboard (Asus P8Z77-V LE Plus). I checked the bios setting and it looks like there is a single entry that sets the mode for these SATA III channels, it is currently set to AHCI.
Any idea why the HDD does not show in windows?
P.S. Win7 is at the latest standard with all upgrades installed. For The Mobo i have run the drivers on the Mobo installation CD. I tried to check if ASUS had updated those files but I am a bit lost in trying to understand whether those are different from the ones I have installed.

Solution
You have to go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer/Disk Management (used to be disk management, now I think it is included in Computer management). There it will show your drive, you will have to initialize it and assign it a drive letter.
