Quick Question About Graphics Card Compatibility

Hello all, just wondering if a Radeon HD 7750 would be able to work with my computer http://www.microcenter.com/product/407265/Inspiron_660_Desktop_Computer
I've looked around already and the graphics card in question requires a 400 watt power supply, in which this computer only has 300 watts. People say to not worry about that though... :\?
Also wondering if anyone could tell me if this card would fit and is compatible with the motherboard... thanks so much ^_^

Yes, you will be fine. The HD 7750 is a 55W card when totally maxed out. That relates to 4.6A on the +12V rail.

Any Dell OEM 300W PSU should be able to handle that.

An few weeks ago i was in similar TH threat ....
I did advise then to NOT go for the 7750 with 300 W only because there is no info how old is the PSU and is it going to manage to take 100 % load.

Now i can say that the 7750 is 75 W max because the GPU have NO extra PCIE power connectors - 6 pin or 8 pin
That means all power come from the Mobo PCIE socket and the max power he can deliver is 75 W

In short you PSU may be will be loaded at 95-100 % an i think will manage if is not to wear off .....

sir, intel dg41ty motherboard with core2quad 2.33ghz can handle this card????
and this card can run games like BF3, CRYSIS 3 etc.. on 1920*1080 with high setings???

Not at the highest settings, no. But at 1080p you should be able to get smooth frame rates at medium settings by leaving AA turned down or off. Crysis 3 is a very demanding game. More so than BF3. I played it with the rig in my sig when i had 2 x GTX 570s instead of the 2 x GTX 660s I have now. I had to back off a tad from the max settings for smooth frame rates.

Yes, any PCIeX16 card will work. The CPU has no bearing on graphic card compatibility.

i have 2gb ddr2 800mhz Kingston Ram. Do I need upgrade ram to 4gb if I install hd7770 on my current system for great performance???

You don't have to, no. But it would be wise if you want better gameplay with less time spent off-loading data to and from the hard drive. Always buy your RAM in matched pairs with a dual channel system.
Your MB's memory specs:
• Two 240-pin, DDR2 1.8 V SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module
(DIMM) sockets
• 800/667 MHz single or dual channel DDR2 SDRAM interface
• Support for up to 4 GB of system memory

Try to find 2 x 2GB memory with the specs above. With only one stick, you will be in single channel mode. You have to have a stick in each slot for dual channel memory mode.

sir, there is so much difference between hd7770 standard model and hd7770 oc ghz edition and hd7770 vaporx edition???
and 2gb gpu is more efficient than 1gb gpu for games like crysis 3??????

There's not that much difference in clock speed between the std model and the Vapor-X. The Vapr-X is preferred for its better cooling if you were to try to get the most out of it by overclocking. If you are going to game at 1080p rather than 720p, then it would be advisable to go with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM over 1GB. The HD 7770 has enough power to utilize it in some situations.
