Ok planning a gaming set up for a friend. Main thing is going to be a triple monitor setup. What video card or cards are the best. I was thinking sli 660ti or xfire 7870 ghz.. price point will be 5 to 600 ish... it will be in a total build so some wiggleroom but not much. On high end was trtrying to go 670 sli but still looking at prices. Date of purchase will be a little ways down the road so hopefully prices with the new 7 series outwill come down and may put amds a bit cheaper so thats something to think about also.

I currently use 7870s in crossfire for a 3 way set-up and dont notice any major issues while gaming but I think that I am just not perceptive. Benchmarks consistently show that nVidia cards scale much better in SLi and don't encounter the latency issues that AMD cards suffer from. The 660 should give you adequate performance, although a pair of faster cards would be a better choice for solid framerates. With the rest of the 700 series coming out it can't hurt to wait and see how the pricing turns out.
