Im back again asking the same question WHY DOES THIS KEEP happening?! I've built my computer a little over two months ago and this problem irritates me to no end.

it doesn't only happen when playing high end games but also happens when playing team fortress 2 which is absolutely ludicrous On team fortress 2 It happens within minutes but on a higher end game it seems to not happen for a while (1 hour or doesnt crash at all). My computer screen would turn black and I'd hear a loud boot noise come from the GPU. I end up having to hard rest my computer. It is NOT A TEMPERATURE ISSUE, temps for GPU never go above 60 and cpu temps never go above 75. Also I've ran memtest on 2 Ram stick overnight and there were no problems whatsoever. I also have the latest AMD drivers.

Intel I5 3570k 3.4ghz
Rageon HD 7870 Twin Frozr OC edition ghz edition 2GB video card
1600 MHZ corsair 8 GB DDR3 RAM
asus p8z77-v lx motherboard
CX750M PSU

NOTHING is overclocked

After changing My PSU to the CX750 and the same problem still persists I'm guessing my graphics card is faulty what do you think?

Suggestions are very much appreciated and I thank all who take the time to respond.

if replacing PSU does not solve the problem then it might be your gpu. before this the are known problem to 7870 which is called 'black screen of death' though back then the problem mostly only affecting 7870 from Sapphire.

btw your mobo does have 2 pcie slot with the second slot running at x4 at pci-e 1.1 standards. you can try your gpu running that slot to see if the problem persist though performance might be much lower than the first slot.

As I said the issue is NOT a temperature one as even under full load "temps for GPU never go above 60 and cpu temps never go above 75. "

Also thank you for notifying me of the black screen issue, This sounds exactly like the problem I've been having

Thats strange, Its not even overclocked, not only that but I have great airflow as well maybe my heatsink is faulty. Also I took out my graphics card and using onboard Intel HD 4000 graphics i've went longer than before and haven't crashed yet, ill get back to you on the subject once I test some more.
