Hello Everyone,

I'm buying the parts to build a PC this week and have a budget of $470. I will be building a gaming computer, without the video card for now as I can't afford one.

Here is my build so far:

I already have a 1TB storage drive so at the moment I just need a quick ssd to boot from. Will the i3 bottleneck some higher end cards? Eventually when I do purchase a video card I'd like to play current games on high settings at 1080p resolution.

Any assistance is welcome!

Thanks,

Connor

you ideally want a quad-core CPU for gaming, get a i5 3470 if you can.

if you're on that tight of a budget, honest just drop the SSD, it's not $90 worth of performance increase for you. once you boot up and load a game, there won't be a difference between an SSD and your regular 1TB HDD. and you shouldn't be dropping over 20% of your budget just to boot 40 seconds faster.

save up the money from the SSD, and get a mid-high range GPU like the Radeon 7870 (forget about Nvidia unless you must go Green as AMD is much easier on a budget)
