My pc just froze about 30 mins ago and I shut it down by holding the power button. When I tried my 1st attempt to boot it the pc shut itself down when it got to windows. I tried another time to start it up and I got a black screen and I held the power button again to shut it down. This time I unplugged my psu and left it for a few mins afterwords I replugged the psu and turned it on. This time managed to get on but it took way longer than usual about 10 mins. I built this pc a little over a year ago. The only problem I ever had with it was a software bug that made the colors act weird (This was about a year ago).

Sounds like there dust.heat issue with your pc. Power it off and unplug it. Take the case panel off. Check that the ram and gpu are seated. Check the CPU heat sink on tight. Over time the plastic legs can walk. Plug the pc in and turn it on watch to make sure all the fans are moving. Run hardware monitor make sure nothing cooking. Check hardware temps. Slow boot at post could be damaged video driver..anti virus or program. Use msconfig and in the start up tab turn everything off. Reboot and see if the system speeds up. If it does turn on things one at a time till the system slows.

I looked at my pc and did a few tests. I also restarted and it seems to be back to normal but I find it strange for it to randomly freeze on me and boot up slow. Guess I'll wait and see if it does it again.

Freez is not strange. It happens. Once in a while is not a big deal. If you get black screen again, read what it says. It should give you code numbers to look up your problem. it looks like ex0000000009. You write it down and look up on the internet. It takes a while for computer to restart if it doing diagnostics and verification.
