Hello Mates,

I just wanted to ask you, what is the best motherboard for gaming? I'm gonna use the intel i7 3770K in my build. I want it to do all the jobs. I heard about the Asus Rampage IIV but idk.

Motherboard Budget : 400$ - 450$

Thanks.

What are your requirements for GPUs. A $400 mobo is overkill for most gaming (as is the 3770K). Only buy a high end mobo if you plan multiple GPUs.

Well first a ASUS Rampage IV is a socket 2011 motherboard and the i7 3770K is a socket 1155 so the two will not work together hope you did not buy the motherboard yet.

If you are needing a 1155 motherboard and want Asus go for the ASUS P8Z77 WS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... . It has about every feature you would need including duel x16 PCI-E ver. 3 sockets.

As for the CPU if you are building a gaming PC and have not got the CPU yet consider the i5 3570K. It is really the best gaming CPU intel has at this time. The main difference in the i7 is Hyper Threading which does not do any good in games and can cause stuttering in games. Most games it should be turned off in the BIOS making it more like a i5 anyway.

Crysis 3 takes advantage of the extra threads. Eventually more games will too. It wouldn't hurt to future proof your system with an i7 quad w/ hyperthreading. Here's an interesting read:

They both are great MBs for gaming with a decent CPU and memory. I like the Gigabyte board better because it has a PCI slot for add ons/upgrades.
