Just installed crossair vengence ram which, ddr3. It says its clocked to 1600 MHz. In bios tho it says memory is clocked to 1333. I changed it to 1600 and comp failed to start so I set it back to 1333. Do I have to change something else I bios if I change the ram speed.

I have the latest bio, i did a flash. I dont see any thing that says XMP in bio under memory section?

Gigabyte obviously eliminated that and you have to set it manually. Because you already tried that and it didn't work i have no idea what's wrong. No reason to worry about anyway, because you will not notice the difference between 1333 with lower latency and 1600.

Set the ram to 1333 boot not windows run Cpuz. Under the memory info tab click on spd info. This is the settings the mb will read to set your ram speed up. Look on the xmp profile line. It the last one on the right. Most 1600 ram may be 1.6v at that speed. You may have to bump up the dram voltage in the bios.
