I recently got a Gigabyte 7870, my old one was a 6870 by gigabyte with the windforce x3 cooler and i was pretty happy with it, but the problem with this one is weird, if the card is stock, no overvoltage or overclock, out of the box it does 75C, 35C idle. If i overclock the card at 1200/1250, 1288mV, It hits 85C under full load and locks there(100% Fan usage, custom), would the card underperform or kill itself faster if i use it like that 24/7?

P.S I play alot of battlefield 3/Bad Company 2
P.S2 I've seen 3-4 reviews of this card, everyone is saying that the max temp under full load is 65C..

Solution
I realize that, but do not worry about the temps, they are not dangerous.

If you have money to spend, I would just go ahead and get a new chassis and new PSU. Both of those need an upgrade.

Well,
MB: Asus P5QL
CPU: Q9550 with Coolermaster V6GT
Case itself is some CoolerMaster, doesn't have a specific name..
Ram: 2x2GB Kingston 800
PSU: 400W 80+ Diamond black

The intakes/exhausts, are none actually, the case is opened, and i had to remove one of the intakes under the PSU because it was blocking me from installing the cpu cooler, that was 2 years ago when i bought it, but still, on the same rig the 6870 didn't have any problems, but this one does, i wouldn't really blame it on the shitty build :D.

Well there you go, you really are stressing that PSU, that could be causing a lot of jitters in the power delivery. In turn that can be causing issues in power delivery to your GPU, increasing its temp output.
It may sound like its not enough to increase temps, that coupled with a CPU OC and the poor airflow in your chassis.

I am not surprised you have increased temps.

I still have the intake fan but i have nowhere to put it :\

It will not help if your case is open. The fan will not create a flow in the case.

Well i can't close it because the coolermaster is too fat.
