I got Radeon 7970 board because I burned out two GTX 660ti boards in a Cyberpower system. I run three monitors two of which have only DVI inputs. The 7970 has one DVI-I and one DVI-D output and I can't find a DVI-I to DVI-D adapter to get my third monitor working (I have one working on the HDMI port and one on the DVI-D). Everything I see seems to have the male/female connections reversed. I am very new at this and probably not too bright. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have any idea where I can find one of these? I bought one (DVI to mini-DP) at Radio Shack, but I got no signal when I plugged it in. Then I thought perhaps it was that it was a DVI-D adapter, not DVI-I, even though it was plugged into the mini-Display port. Do I need to put a DVI-I to DVI-D adapter on it before connecting to the DVI-DP connector? Or am I better off plugging the DVI-I to DVI-D connector into the DVI-I connector on the 7970, and using an HDMI to DP adapter to connect the monitor that is currently on the HDMI connector?

Wai wait. LOL you are confusing me. You HAVE to use one DP on the graphics card. It NEEDS to be an active adapter. This for example. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812607036
So I got the ACTIVE adapter (DVI to mini display port) as you suggested and plugged my second DVI monitor into it. According to Radeon, I should now be able to run 3 monitors (1 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 DVI to mDP (with the active adapter)). Now the two DVI monitors work fine, but there is no signal to the HDMI monitor. Sometimes when I plug in the HDMI cable, the HDMI monitor works, but the DVI monitor on the mDP goes out. I'm beginning to think this whole Eyefinity thing from AMD is just a scam to sell more adapters. According to everything I've read (which matches what you have said), all three monitors should be working now. I just don't get it.

You hit the nail on the head there mate, Nvidia cards do not require extra adapters to enable 3 screen gaming so it can be done without having to jump through any hoops or being scammed into buying adapters that don't work.
