38Mbps connection speed on Fibre Optic?

So we just converted from Orange's broadband to EE's fibre optic , the speed is at 38Mbps. Now , I've just been told that MBps and Mbps are totally different. So how many megabytes will I be downloading per second?

Keep in mind too that, when dealing with really fast speeds you will now notice server side capabilities. When I upgraded to 50mbit, I started to see all the output caps from certain servers. Steam Ill max out, but Origin would only pull 3.5-4 MB/s. Just keep that in mind

Yeah , I have had such bad experience with Origin. Currently I've got a 16Mbps package and it maxes out on Steam (currently downloading Metro Last Light). I used to get the discs for the games if I felt impatient :)
