well crossfire doesn't work well with AMD's current drivers, it hasn't since they first introduced it, has always had poor frame latency, uneven frame spacing, dropped frames and stuttering, resulting in slightly higher and in some cases lower perceptable performance, than a single card. The 6100 is a poor gaming cpu, even at 4.5ghz, the only place it does ok is in newer well threaded games that can make any use of more than 4 cores, which there aren't many of. It has very poor single threaded performance and FPU performance, which is what many games still rely on. This was improved a lot in the newer piledriver 6300 and the 8320/50, but still not comparable to intel i3/i5/i7.[/quotemsg
So are you telling me not to get another 6950? Actually in some benchmarks and the Windows rating, my scores are around the stock i5-2500k scores. I just want to get around 40-50% improvement in games. Currently my friend is selling one to me for $120. Will it give me around a GTX 660ti or GTX 670 level of performance with my CPU?
P.S. I also heard that the new beta drivers have eliminated microstutter by lowering the latency of the frames.
