===================================================
Looking to build a budget gaming desktop and have a few questions.

#1: For AMD FX-8350 build is it worth going from $70 for a 970 mobo to $110 for a 990.

#2: Pre rebates AMD is $555 intel $565, with just gaming in mind ( GW2, EScrolls Online... etc) is it worth it to go with the 8core or stick with intel 4 core

#3: Is there a better build for under $570 that i haven't thought of yet?

Was thinking of building around:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 (~$190)
GPU: GTX 660 2gb (~190)
Cooler: CM Hyper 212 (~$30)

+
RAM: 8-16 GB 1333-1600 (~$70-99)
MOBO: AMD 970-990 (~70-110)

Have case/psu/hdd/dvddrive etc. Need cpu/gpu/heatsink/ram/mobo.

Is this about what I'm looking at:

AMD BASE SYSTEM:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZTEU

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor $189.99
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $29.74
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard $78.99
Memory: Corsair XMS 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $69.99
Video Card: Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card $209.99

After rebates(-$55) it is: ~$500

With 1333 ram from intel build took 20 off.

INTEL BASE SYSTEM

Memory: Corsair 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory $46.98
Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card $199.99

After rebates(-$25): ~$540

---------- lower builds ---------------------

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZU1t

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor $159.99

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard $78.99
Memory: Corsair XMS 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $69.99
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB $174.99

After rebates(-$40): ~$480 but takes a decent performance hit

I think i have my build, the 8350 but what do you guys think?

Just get 2x4GB 1600 for around $65.

16GB RAM is for Heavy editing work, otherwise 8GB will suffice.

Get a 970 mobo and the saved money put it into a better GPU. This will give you considerable gaming performance.
A 990 mobo is good for people who WILL get a second GPU. If not, get a 970. Spend wisely.

Sweet, yeah i dont really plan on going SLI by the time the 660/8350 cant keep it it would be prob time for a whole system upgrade anyways. Just trying to find a way to trim the fat down a little :p

Overclocking the 8320 almost matches the 8350, but it's $30 cheaper for the 8320. Also, I prefer EVGA to PNY GPUs.

Another choice. Get a 7870, which is faster than a 660 and just $15 more.
