Hello. I want to ask what RAM would be best? I have a Asrock Z77 Pro4-m Motherboard and I5-3570k. I have budget of around £50 and wanting to buy 8gb now and another 8gb in a month or so.

Also i will be buying Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler as I'm wanting to upgrade from stock cooler so hopefully that won't get in the way of the RAM.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310657782738 (corsair)

I think both are unbuffered non-ecc ram as i will be mainly using them for gaming so i am wanting best i could get for about £50. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for 2x4gb unbuffered/non-ecc.

Solution

Theoretically, 4x4GB and 2x8GB are equally good. In practice, 2x8 is a bit better. Less chance of a faulty stick, and it's easier for the memory controller with 2 sticks than 4.

But in the meantime, 1x8GB is going to be a lot slower than 2x4GB.

Okay thanks. There's a few more in the link below. So would corsair still be the best to go for?

i'd personally go with corsair, but be warned about that ebay retailer selling it - they use yodel for delivery. if you've never heard of them google it for all sorts of endless hatred.

For what it's worth, I just had an 8GB stick of Crucial Ballistix Sport go bad on my new build. I was here researching better replacement.
