A Question about a Sapphire HD 7970

Hello guys, I recently installed my new Vapor-X HD 7970 and I just noticed that it seems to be bending ever so slightly under its own weight.

The right side is fixed to the rear of the case and the motherboard but the left hand side seems to be drooping downwards a small bit (may just be my mind playing tricks on me) - it is a bid card after all...

Could this have any negative affect on the cards health?

i've seen other cards break over time because of card droop. (or i assume it's because of the droop)... it started with a little drooping and over time it formed a perminent warp in the card... after a year or two the warp grew to be over an inch... eventually the card broke down.

My solution since seeing this happen has been cheap and simple. some cases come with supports for the gpus (proof someone else noticed this can be a problem), if yours does not have one, i use a little dental floss, and make a small harness, and suspend the harness from the top of the case somwhere. It doesn't take a lot of force to cancle the droop. so you should be able to figure out something. dental floss worked great for me because it's as permanent as i want it to be, and if i need to get rid of it, cutting it off costs me nothing. (furthermore its strong enough and heat resistant enough for my purposes)

yes... most gpus do that... but after years of seeing the warping it puts into both the gpu and motherboards, i chose to prevent that type of damage... even if it's largely incidental in 95% of cases, i'd rather not be in the 5% who's gpu/mb suddenly stops working because something broke 2-3 years down the road.
