is my pcie 16 slot dead ? pls help.

hi,
i just purchased a hd5570,i doesnt get detected by mobo at all,hd5570 fan spins and card get warm but no display.i disabled onboard but still a no.
is my pcie x16 dead.
but if it is dead how come gpu fan is spining and card is getting warm.
i have only one pcie x16 slot
pls reply fast.its kinda urgent....

You need update the BIOS from MSI if you still use the MSI MB. http://www.msi.com/product/mb/NF725GM-P31.html#/?div=BIOS

Because your MB has the pcie 1X16, and your HD 5570 is the pcie 2.1X16 card, that is very common like that you need to update the BIOS so that MB can recognize the pcie2.1X16 card. It is the compatible problem.

Or maybe the card is bad.

On some old boards, you need to manually select PCI-E as the primary video in the BIOS.

1) If you can use the HD5450 that means the pcie is not broken.
2) Yes, if it does.

NO, my parent wont allow to invest in it anymore.they will not buy me a new mobo,so lastly i have to quit gaming.... :'(

itz very difficult to leave gaming but i cant buy a new mobo bcoz i am from damn middle class family in india.so i'll quit gaming... :'(
