Hey all,
So i recently got a new pc with the specs below

GPU: GeForce GTX 650 TI
CPU: AMD FX 8350 Eight core
Memory: 8 GB ram
HDD is 1 TB
SSD: 120GB

i run alot of my games from my SSD.

I've noticed during games my GPU Load drops from 93 down to about 20 for roughly 10 seconds or so, then it goes back to its normal 93, during this time my FPS drops from 50 down to about 12

I've checked my Temps and and the max i've seen the CPU go to is 51 and my GPU to about 40

I've been searching around for things like this for a few days and still not come across a definitive solution :(

Thanks in advance.

AMD FX 8350 does tend to have really low minimum FPS in some games, an example would be Crysis 3 where the average FPS is quite good, but the FPS does really drop low at times. Just as you describe it yourself.

thanks for the reply :)

The game i'm trying to play is Rift, and Is there anyway to stop it dropping as much or as sudden as it does ? Just checked it again and it goes down to 17 FPS in game which is a sudden drop.

I've read some forums through now mate, and it seems to be game related too. To monitor your CPU and GPU usage will give you a picture of if the game isn't using your GPU or CPU to it's fullest. If the usage drops when the FPS drops, then it's a game related problem most likely.

I've made a guide myself of how you can monitor your CPU and GPU on-screen. Follow it and try to look how your CPU and GPU usage is during drops. It's hard to determine the problem, but my suspision is highly leaning to your CPU or the game itself.

Hello,

when I bought my pc, every game worked fine.

But then I started to overclock my CPU and my PC crahsed. :/

Since that I got these drops too and some games were unplayable.

So I searched for a solution on google, but didn't found anything.

I underclock my CPU to 3.1 Ghz and no problems appeared till I played Two Worlds 2 and all this sh** started again.

SOLUTION:
SO I looked in my BIOS to the VCORE and it was to low. (It was on AUTO-Setting at 1.362, but still to low)
So I increased it to 1.4 and now everything is OK.

Actual clocks:
Core Speed 3684.~
Multiplier x17
Bus Speed 216. ~
HT Link 2167.~

I think this drops came from wrong overclocking.

Hope this will help you.

PS. Sorry for bad english.
