Recently my Windows 7 machine was working fine then dropped the network connection. A that time I tried to shut the computer down and had to finally push the Start button to shutdown. Later I tired to start it and everything came up, worked fine for a period of time then repeated the same problem. I again had to shutdown by pressing the start button on the machine (not on the desktop). The following error message came up before it shut down. What does it mean? What is causing the problem?

Windows has recovered from an unexdpected shutdown; Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

What are your PC specs, brand, model etc...

It might be a PSU issue, a ram stick has gone bad, the hdd is nearing its end of life, or a driver issue. If the modem is only 56 kbps, it really isn't suited to Windows 7, it is an old modem suited to Windows 95/98 (I've seen it's use in other threads).. Some USB internet devices are only suited totheir era and may not be suited to your curtrent OS or netwrok bandwidth. Many Service Providers are phasing out the lower bandwith, you may need to upgrade the modem.

If you are using a usb Tv receiver or a Capture card, that could be an issue.

Sorry to be so long in answering but couldn't get the "broken" computer up at all last evening and this afternoon I decided to play around with it a bit by taking of the side panel to the case to allow more air into the case and to make certain everything seemed to be running. The computer responded by coming up but would not make connections to the internet via the TP-Link adapter. Moved the adapter to every available USB and the adapter would not light up like it should on any of them. Went to Device mgr. and had the yellow exclamation on one of the USBs although, as I said, the adapter wouldn't light up on any of them so finally hooked up via an Ethernet cable w/o a problem!

Yes, anti-virus (Avast free) is up to date and both a boot scan and a full scan was run w/o anything showing up. MBAM was also run and again the computer is clean.

The C:\Users\Pat\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-83359-0.sysdata.xml file is on the computer but only up to the "WER", etc. so I haven't included it.

I have attached the C:\Windows\Minidump\052313-23453-01.dmp file; it is listed as GRMWDK_E_7600_1.ISO I have NO IDEA how to open this file but it looks like Cyberlink opened it. However, I have no idea how to get it copied into this message. Same goes for the file from Belarc.

I have also unsuccessfully tried to attach a file from Belarc that hopefully will answer any question you have about what is inside the case of this computer. I understand that the parts are OLD but the darn thing runs/ran like a champ until just recently which really makes me believe that something is dying/dead inside the computer or there is some sort of "baddie" virus, malware aboard. I'm NOT a techie but do know enough to somewhat follow whatever you find but have never had a computer go down on me like this before.

If you can tell me of a way to get these two files to Tom's Hardware - if it can be done - I'd appreciate it.
